Dr. Monique Farrington, FNP-C is the owner of Farrington Cares, P.L.L.C. and licensed to practice in the states of Virginia and Florida. She earned her doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) from Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA and attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in both Chemistry and in Nursing.

​Originally from the Bronx, in New York City, Dr. Farrington has called Hampton Roads her home for the past 20+ years.  She began her nursing career at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in the cardiac and labor & delivery units.  Her desire to care for others through the field of nursing compelled her to pursue and complete her Master of Science in Nursing at ODU. She also worked as a nurse practitioner in the labor & delivery units at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and Sentara Princess Anne Hospital.  Taking with her all those invaluable experiences, she decided to pursue her passion of primary care, where she thoroughly loves serving in this capacity.

In addition to tending to her established patients with Farrington Cares, PLLC, Dr. Farrington also works as a primary care provider for QuadMed/HII Family Health Center, is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the president-elect of the Tidewater chapter of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, a member of the National Black Nurses Association, and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

​Outside of working and being an active participant in her community and professional activities, she very much enjoys spending time with her family.
